Oil and Acrylic Paint, Soft Pastel and Oil Bar on Cotton Canvas
Born and raised in the Langhe, Matteo Fieno keeps his roots there. Although his artistic growth is taking him, along with his paintings, all around Italy and Europe, it is in the land that gave birth to him that he chooses to live and produce his art.
He has already had several group exhibitions – the most recent at the Biennale in Milan – and has gathered several artistic awards, such as the Caravaggio Prize, handed directly to him by the well-known art critic Vittorio Sgarbi. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions in which his artistic talent emerged as an expression of a mature pictorial originality appreciated by the many critics who got to know and experience his work.
He quickly rose to success, and in 2019 Fieno had his first solo exhibition "Declinazioni al femminile", in which he set up about forty works in one of the most vibrant sets of the national art scene: the "Milano art gallery", that awarded him as an emerging artist this very year.
Fieno is plumbing the female world, transferring on canvas, as an artistic impression, the strong complexity of all women. As a painter increasingly appreciated by critics and art lovers, Fieno gives voice to his vision, one in which women are an absolute protagonist. Keeper of beauty, embodiment of inner depths that need to be grasped and amaze, the woman meets in Fieno’s work empathy and identification, the most original traits of artistic inspiration steaming from the albese artist. An interpretive ability that feeds on a remarkable imaginative capacity and that, at the same time, fixes the distinctive features of his artistic language into reality.
