Julie Nachamkin is a self-taught abstract painter.She works with acrylic paints and mediums, inks, acrylic markers, and various materials to create textures that are applied in layers on canvas or on archival quality boards to build abstract images that express the complexity of emotions and experiences.
Julie grew up in East Brunswick, New Jersey. She attended Penn State University and graduated with a BA in Liberal Arts. She worked in the corporate real estate business for several years while she and her husband, Michael, raised their two children in Princeton, New Jersey. During those years, Julie began to work with paints and specialty finishes eventually leaving the corporate world to start a business providing specialty painting and finishes on walls and furniture. This also gave her the time to study and practice her fine art skills.
Today, Julie’s primary focus is on her true passion, abstract painting, working in her studio in Hamilton, New Jersey.Although studio work is a solo endeavor, she participates in various exhibitions and art events where she can share her artwork with the community, while meeting other artists and art industry professionals.
